Country life for me

I don't know if it's the book I'm reading or if I'm just tired of all the traffic, but lately I've been dreaming about Country life. Getting away from all the noise and getting back to nature. I've been taking long drives through the country on Sunday afternoons and last week I decided to take my camerea along so you could dream along with me.

This is my little country house that I'd live in with my little country kids and I'd have yummy Carmel apples for the trick or treaters that came at Halloween. Because in the country everybody is good and nobody would poison the kiddies.

This is the window to my attic. Where there is a big trunk full of all my old prom and wedding dresses and there is a full length mirror that my daughter will admire herself in while playing dress up.
 Just like in the movies.

Here is my cow Bessie that I milk at 4am so I can have fresh milk from the cow every morning.

This is all my farming equipment that I must first learn the name of before I can learn how to use it.

Here is the gate that leads back to my open pond, surrounded by trees. Where I'll sit in my little boat reading a good book.
And at the end of the day I'll sit on my back porch in my rocker, watching the sun set and listening to the crickets chirp along with all the other natural sounds of the country.

I've got my eyes on some cowboy boots and I just might give in and buy them. Next thing ya know I'll be listening to country music and demanding Josh learn swing dance with me.
NAH.... I don't think I could handle all the hard work and the misquotes that would attack me every evening.
It's fun pretending like I could tho.

  1. Ash these pictures look awesome! I have so much to learn. But I'll get there. I am still shooting in 'auto' all of the time. I need to get brave.

  2. Thanks Liz! I'm still in auto too, and I've been doing it for 5 years now. I haven't gotten brave yet. :) I am getting better with the angel I take the picture tho and that seems to helps a lot. I'm so happy your getting into photography it's more fun when I have people to share it with.

  3. It is the book! I'm enthralled in the sequel right now and I am dreaming of being a rancher too. I would love to live that life - the hard work, the hard life, the love and the happiness... I love that book. Pretty pictures. :)

  5. "These is my words" by Nancy E. Turner. It's good Liz! Buy it! Read it! Then join Deb and I on the ranch. :)

  6. Those are cool pictures Ash! Did you take them? Where is that?? I want that house now too, but just to stay in for a bit. I'm a suburb girl, not a farm girl.

  7. Yep! I took them all! That house has been my dream house since I stumbled upon it 4 years ago. It's out by Syracuse Arts academy. And one day it WILL be mine!
